Automatic Call Back - *66
By activating Automatic Call Back, your line will remain open for other incoming calls while your phone automatically redials the number with a busy signal. When the call goes through, a ring signals you to pick up the phone.
How to Use:
When you hear a busy signal, depress the switchhook (the round, flat or square button you push to hang up the phone) and release quickly. Listen for a special dial tone.
If you’ve already disconnected the call, pick up the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
Dial *66
If the line is still busy, hang up. Your phone will check this number for up to 30 minutes. A special call back ring alerts you if the line becomes free (some phones will ring normally.) Pick up the handset to automatically place the call.
Notes:
To restart the 30-minute clock, repeat the first 4 steps.
Service does not work on 800 numbers, 900 numbers, numbers outside the specified service area or on lines where Call Forward and some other call services have been activated.
To Deactivate:
Depress the switchhook and release. Listen for a special dial tone. If you have already hung up, lift the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
Dial *86
Listen for a confirmation tone or announcement, then hang up.
Call Forwarding - *72
With call forwarding, you can step away from your desk with confidence. All your important calls will be transferred to another number.
How to Use:
Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone.
Dial *72 (on rotary dial phones, dial 1172 and wait four seconds.)
Listen for the special dial tone.
Dial the number you want your calls to be forwarded to. The call forward feature is activated when someone answers at the forwarded number.
If there is no answer at the forwarded number, or if the line is busy, hang up the phone and repeat the steps above. If you do so within two minutes, you’ll hear two beeps notifying you your Call Forward feature is now working.
Notes:
Once you’ve activated Call Forward, your phone will make one short ring each time a call is forwarded. You can still make outgoing phone calls from this phone.
If you wish to change the number to which your calls are being forwarded, just deactivate the feature (see below) and repeat the steps above to forward your calls to a new number.
To Deactivate:
Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
Dial *73 (on rotary dial phones, dial 1173 and wait four seconds.)
Listen for two beeps and hang up. The feature is no longer active, and calls will ring on your phone normally.

How to Use:
When you get a nuisance call, depress the switchhook (the round, flat or square button you push to hang up the phone) and release quickly. Listen for a special dial tone.
If you’ve already disconnected the call, just pick up the handset again and listen for a normal dial tone.
Dial *57
Listen for a confirmation announcement that the last call has been traced then hang up. The number you traced will be recorded at the phone company and can be provided to local authorities upon their request.

Customer originated trace must be used immediately after you hang up on the call you want traced. If you get another call, or hear a Call Waiting tone first, you will trace the wrong call.

Three-Way Calling/Multi-Way Calling
So you can make your plans on one call, rather than three or four. With Three-Way Calling, you can get everybody on the phone at the same time.
How to Use:
To add a third person to your call, first you must depress the switchhook (the round, flat or square button the handset pushes down when you hang up the phone) for about one second. This will place the person you’re currently talking with on hold.
Listen for the dial tone. Then dial the number of the third person you want to join the conversation. If the call to the third person is not completed or answered, depress the switchhook twice to resume the conversation with the person on hold.
When the third person answers, you can talk privately with this person before making the call a three-way conversation.
To make the call a three-way conversation, depress the switchhook for about one second to add the person you have on hold. Your three-way call is now underway.
To disconnect the third person, depress the switchhook for about one second. You’ll now have only the original party on the line. If either of the two people hang up, you can continue talking with the remaining party.
Distinctive Ring - *61
Give your special callers top priority with distinctive rings. Distinctive ring/call waiting provides special ringing or Call Waiting notification for calls received from numbers on a specified list. This service allows you to separate client and personal calls and answer appropriately.
How to Use:
Pick up the handset and listen for the dial tone.
Dial *61
Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off.
The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored on your list.
Follow the voice instructions and dial 3 to turn the feature ON (if it is currently off), or turn the feature OFF (if it is currently on).

If someone calls from your list, you’ll hear a special ring. All other calls will have a normal ringing pattern.
You can store up to 31 numbers on your list.
If you have Call Waiting and receive a call from a number on your list while you’re on another call, you’ll hear a special Call Waiting tone. All other calls are signaled by a normal tone.
The list you create for this feature is separate from any other lists you may be using for similar services such as Selective Call Rejection, Selective Call Acceptance or Selective Call Forwarding.
Call Waiting
With call waiting, you’ll never miss another call while talking on the phone. A special tone alerts you of an incoming call while you are talking on the phone. You will be able to place your current call on temporary hold while you answer the new call.
How to Use:
When you’re on the phone, a beep notifies you that a second call is waiting. Only you will hear this beep.
If you don’t answer the second call within ten seconds, another beep will remind you it’s there. The incoming caller hears the normal ring tone.
To answer the second call, depress the switchhook (the round, flat or square button the handset pushes down when you hang up the phone) for about one second to place your current call on hold. You will be automatically connected with the second caller.
To alternate between calls, depress the switchhook for one second. Each of your conversations is private and cannot be heard by the other caller.
To end either call, simply hang up. Your telephone will ring, and when you answer it you will be connected with the other caller. The call you discontinued will no longer be on the line.
Call Transfer
Call Transfer is a convenient way to relay calls to your associates with minimal time and effort.
How to Use:
While currently on the line, depress the switchhook (the round, flat or square button the handset pushes down when you hang up the phone) for one second. This will place the current caller on hold.
Listen for the dial tone, then dial the number you would like the current call forwarded to. Hang up the phone. Your call has now been transferred.
Call Forward Busy
