Downloading & Installing Socket AcceleratorSocket Premium Dial-up customers, please follow the step-by-step instructions below to put the Accelerator program on your computer:(Not a Socket Premium Dial-up Customer? Please call Socket's friendly sales representatives at 1-800-762-5383 to set up a valid Socket Premium Dial-up account before following these instructions.)
STEP 1: Download. Download the Accelerator program to your computer by clicking on the link below and selecting OPEN. You must be online to complete this download. Please be sure to complete the following Installation steps after the download is complete. Download Macintosh Accelerator: ftp://www.socket.net/socket_accelerator_mac_setup_v2.dmg STEP 2: Install. Install the Accelerator program on your computer by following the prompts which should appear automatically after the download is complete. Samples of these prompts are pictured and described below. Notice: These demo pictures are only to be used as an example for the Installation steps. Clicking on the pictures below will not install the Accelerator program. To install the Accelerator, go to step 1 and click your mouse on the 'Download Accelerator File Now' link. a) Click the 'Next' button on the 'Socket Accelerator Setup: Welcome' screen.
b) Read through the Terms of Service and then click 'Accept'.
c) At the 'Installation Options' screen, click 'Next'.
d) Socket Accelerator will begin installing by copying files to the drive. You don't need to do anything here.
e) When installation is complete, click the 'Start Using Socket Accelerator' button.
STEP 3. Sign In. When prompted to enter in a username and password, simply type in your Socket dial-up username (first half of your @socket.net e-mail address) and password.
Congratulations! You are now ready to start using the Socket Accelerator! If you have any problems installing the Accelerator, please contact Socket's friendly technical support department at support@socket.net or at 1-800-SOCKET-3.
